Connecting My Love for the Ocean to Community Action and Education at UCLA

Educate The People
Growing up, I was fascinated by tide pools, marine animals, and the way every part of the ecosystem connects. That curiosity led me to study marine biology at UCLA, where I’ve been able to turn my passion into purpose.

As a member of the UCLA Surfrider Foundation Club, I help organize beach cleanups and educational programs for local elementary schools. I believe that small acts—like picking up trash or teaching kids why plastic pollution matters—can create ripple effects that lead to real change.

Through our club’s work, I hope to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable living and inspire others to take part in protecting our coastline.

Contributing to the community has taught me that environmental advocacy isn’t just about science—it’s about connection.
