My name is David and I go by DJ. I am an artist and member of the League of Filipino Students at San Francisco State University. When I was a student I searched for a Filipino community and couldn't find it at my undergraduate college so when I came to San Francisco State for graduate school, I joined the LFS to help connect Filipino students to their ancestral heritage. Many students aren't educated about the conditions in the Philippines and the history of protest and activism in Filipino culture. By continuing with the League of Filipino Students I can help other students learn about their ancestry and culture and discover what it means to be Filipino American.
