When I was eight years old, I found my mother deceased. That moment shattered my world, but it also planted the seed for my purpose. Writing became my safe space first through journaling, then poetry. It was how I learned to process pain, to give my emotions a voice when I didn’t have the words to speak them aloud.
As I grew older, I realized my story could help others heal too. That’s what led me to become a community partner and teach Social and Emotional Intervention classes at The Phoenix Academy. In that space, I use journaling and spoken word to help youth navigate their emotions, find their voice, and understand their worth.
Through public speaking and poetry, I share pieces of my journey, not for sympathy, but to show that healing is possible. My mission is simple: to create safe spaces where young people can speak their truth, just as I once needed to. Because I know firsthand that when you give pain a voice, you give purpose a chance to grow.
