I’m Alexandria Webb, the LGBTQIA+ Client Services Advocate at the Orange County Rape Crisis Center. My work centers on making sure that the people who educate and care for our communities — especially queer and trans Black and Brown organizers — are paid and recognized for what they do. Too often, those teaching others how to build safer, more inclusive spaces do it without compensation. I’m working to change that. I connect advocates to funding, write grants, and build partnerships so community educators — whether they’re leading workshops, hosting drag shows, or creating healing spaces — receive fair pay and sustainable support. This work isn’t only about wages; it’s about dignity. Paying people for their time and expertise validates their role as leaders and ensures that this vital education can continue. I’m inspired by those who teach through lived experience, often without formal acknowledgment. My job is to make sure they’re valued, resourced, and seen.
