Part of expressing gratitude for success in life (financial success, being able-bodied, having the privilege of free time) means to give back to people. Period. Holidays can be times of such joy for people but are probably the most painful and lonely for people in need. A lot of my friends are suffering, mentally, financially, physically, and now more than ever people are being denied resources they need to care for their health or even to feed themselves. So I’m asking my friends on Instagram who needs free food dropped off! I’m excited to help my friends. I’ve heard back from a friend with small children who just got out of the hospital and hasn’t had time or energy to shop or cook, and another friend who is not seeing her family this year and needs some extra love and support. I’m so excited to be able to help, and honestly, this will likely help me feel less lonely and more connected to the community I love, too.
