I start and run rural free medical clinics for the uninsured with community volunteers

Aid The People
As a partially paralyzed, disabled veteran, I know the importance of medical care to being productive. In 2019, when I saw the amount of low-income, rural working people who were unable to afford insurance for chronic conditions, I started a free, primary care clinic with my church. When the pandemic wiped out many of the other rural, volunteer clinics in Oklahoma, I created a new, electronic business model. Working with medical suppliers, state health officials and other medical volunteers, Engage is able to run a primary clinic and pharmacy for about $11,000 per year. Operating in County Health Departments, churches and other buildings, we are now opening rural free clinics statewide (currently 4 with 8 more scheduled for 2026). We have also opened a mail-order free pharmacy for any free clinic lacking a pharmacist in their area and all clinics are electronically connected for telemedicine.
