My name is Judy Klem. Working the land, working the soil and becoming connected with the earth is probably the biggest, deepest, most American thing somebody can do. The earth is what we're all here to take care of. I find it restorative for me, and then it's restorative for the earth. And in addition, it's connected me with neighbors. That became an extra benefit of planting this type of garden in a community where we're so busy. We're in our cars; we're running around. Connecting with your neighbors through a garden is such a warm and wonderful way to meet new people and do something that feels rewarding and heartwarming. This garden brings me so much peace and comfort and relaxation and it's productive; it's creative. It brings me so much joy when I'm in the garden.
