I contribute to Shalom Farms by helping to grow, harvest, and distribute fresh produce that goes directly to families who otherwise may not have access to healthy food. I’m inspired by the resilience of our community and the belief that everyone deserves nourishing meals, no matter their circumstances. The problem I hope to help solve is food insecurity in Richmond, where too many families live in food deserts with little access to affordable, fresh produce.
What I get out of contributing is a deep sense of purpose and connection. Working side by side with neighbors in the fields reminds me that change can start small, with our own hands in the soil, and ripple outward into something much bigger.
