Transforming excess into impact

Feed The People
I'm Matt Jozwiak, founder and CEO of Rethink Food. We make meals for local community centers by partnering with restaurants and creating food in our community kitchen. The goal is simple: bring quality, nutritious meals to people who need them while building community.

I’ve been inspired by so many people—my mom, who’s always charitable, and the chefs I’ve worked with, who constantly give back. Seeing their generosity keeps me motivated and reminds me why this work matters.

Running Rethink Food has its challenges: raising millions, managing government contracts, keeping the team motivated, and staying lean enough to move quickly. But every milestone teaches me something about myself. I used to be intimidated managing people, but now I realize my scrappiness is my strength. I’ve also learned that it’s not just about giving meals—it’s about how you give them, making sure quality and care are never compromised.

The most profound moment for me was the first major donation to a community center. Hearing the joy and celebration on the other end of the phone made me realize the impact we could have. To me, being American means using resources and community to make a difference, and Rethink Food lets restaurants compete on quality while doing real charitable work—that’s service, and that’s what drives me every day.
