Bless Cookies: Sharing Meals, Spreading Love, and Fighting Hunger

Feed The People
We’re honored to share our story as the founders of The Bless Cookies Community Network. What started during the 2020 pandemic as a simple effort to bring a little joy—baking and delivering cookies to uplift others—quickly grew into something much larger. Our small act of kindness became a mission to help fight food insecurity across Greater Richmond. For us, it’s about compassion, community, and showing that even small gestures can make a big difference.
Through their network of community partners and neighbors, Jerry and Jo help get healthful food into the homes of vulnerable individuals. Their food pantry, open the second Saturday of each month, serves Chesterfield, North Chesterfield, Richmond, Henrico, Petersburg, Chester, Colonial Heights, and King William. They don’t just provide food—they build relationships, offer support, and create a sense of belonging.

What inspires me most is their belief that food is more than nourishment—it’s a way to connect, care, and serve. Featuring their story is my way of celebrating the power of grassroots action and encouraging others to get involved. We all have something to give, and together, we can make a lasting impact.
