My mom's diagnosis inspires me to take a stand against breast cancer

Serve The People
Spreading awareness and fundraising to help find a cure for breast cancer has been a passion of mine ever since my mom was diagnosed back in 2010. Participating in events, both big and small, such as a pink-themed bake sale, allows me to connect with many people who have been affected themselves or know of others who have.

Additionally, 46 kids are told they have cancer every school day, and that's 46 too many. For the last 4 years, I have been committed to the fight to end childhood cancer by taking part in my school's 6-hour dance marathon, standing in support of finding a cure. No one should have to be affected by cancer, especially children.

I continue to fight against childhood cancer because all kids deserve a chance to grow up and follow their dreams.
  • For the last 4 years in October, I have been a volunteer at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Central Park
  • As a college student, I didn't realize I could be part of something so incredible that has a greater impact than I realized
  • So many families across the country are affected by childhood cancer every day, something one no one should have to go through
  • 46 kids are told they have cancer every school day, and that's 46 too many
