How Ashlee Uden turned accountability into a new life — and now teaches it

Mentor The People
I never imagined I’d be where I am today — from addiction, repeated arrests, and years in prison, to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with others who are fighting to rebuild their lives. Everything changed when I came to The Other Side Academy and began relearning honesty, integrity, and accountability. Here, we don’t just go through the motions — we confront our behaviors in group meetings, giving and receiving real feedback, and holding each other accountable for how we show up every day. That discipline of honesty and mutual support reshaped me. After four years as a student, I stayed on as a staff member and helped launch Other Side Academy in Denver, CO. For the past four and a half years, I've been helping others step into hope and more stable lives. Leading others to change is the most gratifying work I’ve ever known.
