Working at Befrienders with seniors in my community gave me the opportunity to hear stories from generations I might not interact with otherwise, and highlighted the importance for connection and belonging across all ages. That experience has shaped who I am today and has sparked my passion to work with older adults in my work as a mental health counselor.
