Mindfulness Programs for Under-Resourced Communities

Serve The People
I’m Ella Crivello, Executive Director of Community Mindfulness Project. We strengthen the well‑being, resilience, and leadership capacity of our neighbors and staff through accessible, evidence‑based mindfulness programs. We offer community-centered supports to unlock access to deeper practice and mindfulness skills that help reduce unhealthy stress and build community.

Our focus is a trauma-informed, dignity‑forward practice for under‑resourced people and those who serve them, including case managers, social workers, teachers, security staff and more. When caregivers have tools to regulate stress, whole communities benefit. Mindfulness offers practical, science‑backed skills that people can use anywhere. Whether you’re on a commute between client meetings or before bedtime, mindfulness practices can steady the nervous system, improve sleep, and foster connection.

I came to this work personally during a period of stress, pandemic lockdowns and early parenthood. It helped me meet what was hard without judgment. As a leader and a mom, mindfulness practice helps me show up with presence and compassion for my kids and for my colleagues. Ripple effects grow outward every time a participant feels safer, more resourced, and less alone.

In partnership with local organizations, we create spaces to listen, breathe, and learn together so more people stay grounded in the work, and more neighbors feel seen and supported.
