Where Creativity Takes Root

Enlighten The People
I’m an illustrator and gardener who believes creativity thrives in the space between intention and intuition. Whether through teaching a gardening workshop or designing whimsical illustrations, my work is about distilling something vast and overwhelming into small, approachable steps.

Plants teach patience, mystery, and the value of growth that can’t be rushed. My garden is filled with beauty, and watching these plants coexist has reshaped how I think about belonging, place, and possibility. I’m motivated by the people who wander into my garden or my classes asking, “Where do I begin?”

The problem I’m hoping to solve is the cultural fixation on instant results and perfect outcomes. Gardening, like making art, resists that mindset. There’s no hack, no shortcut, no singular “right way.” I want to counter the idea that beauty or meaning is found only in the final product. Instead, I try to help people find value in the slow work, the mistakes, the years-long unfolding.

Connection is the reward, both to people and to place. In the garden is where we are grounded in cycles bigger than ourselves. For me, this work provides the chance to witness growth in plants, in students, in my community, and in myself.
