Serving the community as First Responder, Training in CPR & First Aid

Aid The People
As a paramedic, we are trained to assess and treat those who are ill or injured. In most cases, we see patients at their worst and possibly taking their last breath. We never know where or what we might discover on the next call. We must be in a ready position for all.

Being in the ready position is why I became a paramedic. It wasn’t the adrenaline rush, to be in the spotlight or to be the hero. No, not none of that. I became a paramedic to help those who are helpless and depend on me to help them or a family member. They say we signed up for the job and we should not be affected by what we see or do. This is far from the truth. Young and old, I’ve made a difference in one’s life (my main reason) but I’ve seen many lives lost too. Many I want to forget but cannot. I’ve “learned” to celebrate their lives and not blame myself if one passes. Compassion runs deep in those who continue to believe, “this is not the day you’re passing.”
