It all started with my home and my children. I never thought I would have children then I got married and had five boys. I learned that a lot of original, melanated and indigenous children specifically males are failing in the school system due to a lack of individuality and personal history. I contribute by teaching them their status and correct history as it applies to them. The challenges that I am trying to address are a lack of community/representation. The personal experiences that shaped us are seeing their strengths as beings and not placing them in an outdated system that doesn't honor their mind as a spirit being. I gain the future from giving back.
