Tuba Christmas gives tubas their moment in the spotlight

Entertain The People
Come on up front and be heard. That's the spirit of Tuba Christmas.

My name is Alan Berdahl and along with my co-chair Rolyn Beaird we coordinate a wonderful volunteer chorus of musicians (only some of which have ever played a tuba before). For the last 38 years, Tuba Christmas has been an annual event in Sioux Falls, bringing people of all ages together, united through music, to sit next to each other and fill the room with joyous sound.

Everyone is welcome at Tuba Christmas. It's an opportunity for us to appreciate those that came before us and made the instrument what it is today, as well as for tubas to step up to the front and center instead of just being in the back row keeping rhythm. If you think Tuba's aren't a show stopping act, you haven't seen Tuba Christmas.
