I teach Zumba classes to promote physical, mental, and emotional health, self care, and self love/love for others

Teach The People
I am an ESL instructor, a math/art teacher, a mom of four children, and a Zumba instructor. I have always had the passion for teaching, whether in the education fields, the arts, or physical fitness classes. Things naturally came “easy” for me and I’ve never really struggled to achieve my academic or career goals. Not until my late husband of twenty-two years passed away in a way that was (and still is) unfathomable and painful. My youngest child was only eleven years old at the time, while my older children were in their late teens. My whole world turned upside down and I spent the next few years on autopilot, trying to take care of everything from finances to well-being of each of my four children. While life seemed doomed at certain moments, it is my faith in God and the blessings of kind friends and family that carried me through. Only then I realized my blessings were meant to be paid forward. Hardships opens doors for more compassion, patience, and empathy for others who are struggling. Through my teaching at schools/colleges and Zumba classes, I have learned that EVERYONE goes through tough times at some point in their lives. But I am ready and willing to help in any way possible. Whether a student grasps a new skill in math or ESL classes or a Zumba student excitedly shares how they have lost weight and developed a healthier lifestyle since attending my Zumba classes, I am thankful that I can payback at least some of the blessings I’ve received when I needed them the most. Our world isn’t perfect and will never be; however, as Americans and as people, we must be proactive in connecting with others. “No Man is an Island” and there’s power in unity. As long as we stand strong together, there’s less room for fear. It is our duty to help those who need it, those who cannot speak for themselves, and those who feel alone. Especially in this political environment, it is crucial that we, as citizens of the world stay united and compassionate toward one another.
