My story begins with loss—but it didn’t end there.
Like many families, mine was changed by estrangement. Becoming separated from loved ones created a deep and unexpected grief, filled with loneliness, unanswered questions, and a longing for connection. As I worked through my own healing, I began to see how many others were quietly carrying the same pain—grandparents separated from grandchildren, children growing up without extended family, and families yearning for meaningful relationships beyond blood.
Out of that realization, SurrogateGrandparents-USA was born.
What began as a small idea grew into a nationwide community rooted in compassion, shared humanity, and the belief that love does not have to be limited by biology. Every day, I witness something extraordinary: seniors rediscovering purpose, children gaining mentors and unconditional love, and families finding connection where they once felt none was possible. Loneliness eases. Bonds form. Lives change.
Creating this community also helped me reclaim my own voice. By speaking openly about estrangement and healing, I transformed personal pain into purpose. I’ve since written published articles, shared my story through podcasts, and had the honor of seeing our mission featured on CBS Mornings—a powerful reminder that this need is real and deeply felt across the country.
This journey has never been about blame or bitterness. It is about forgiveness, growth, and choosing to build something meaningful from hardship.
SurrogateGrandparents-USA stands as proof that family can be created, love can be shared, and healing often begins when we reach beyond ourselves to help others feel seen, valued, and connected.
