In one day, we'll turn 50 empty spaces into sanctuaries for families who need it most

Shelter The People
Home Reimagined, a one day home makeover event put on by our organization, grew directly out of a conviction I couldn’t shake: a dignified home is not a reward at the end of the journey — it’s the foundation people need to thrive. Every day, I see how the absence of something as basic as a bed, a table, or a place to sit can weigh on families and add to insecurity. And I see how quickly stability takes root when those essentials are in place.

Each year, A Wider Circle provides furniture and essential home furnishings — free of charge — to more than 5,000 individuals and families. This work is not charity. It's a statement of dignity, a way of saying: you deserve comfort, sanctuary, and a home that supports your next chapter.

Home Reimagined began with a bold question: What if we could fully transform multiple homes in a single day?

With the support of interior designers, professional movers, and community partners across our region, we decided to find out. Since 2023, we’ve taken on that challenge, furnishing more and more homes each year. And on May 7, 2026, we'll do it again.

In one powerful day of service, we will collect, deliver, and install furniture, decor, and essential household items in 50 homes. Working side by side, designers and movers will turn empty spaces into places of warmth, function, and care — at no cost to those we serve.

The impact is immediate and deeply human. A child sleeps in a bed instead of on the floor. A family gathers around a table for a shared meal. A senior opens their door with pride, welcoming loved ones into a home that reflects dignity and respect. These are not luxuries; they are the basics that make stability possible.

I’m proud to be part of an organization with a “no wrong door” approach — one that listens first, meets people where they are, and builds solutions alongside them. Home Reimagined reflects the best of our shared spirit of action, showing what’s possible when communities come together not just to help, but to create homes — and with them, hope.
