I always wanted to be like those runners in Central Park. I remember watching them growing up and thinking that they looked so free. When my father passed away, running felt like it was my calling- a way for me to move through my grief.

I started Ridgewood Runners in April of 2023 because I wanted to create a running community in my local neighborhood. I posted flyers around the neighborhood hoping people would show up, and we’ve grown exponentially since then. It’s been such a gift to run with people and encourage one another.
