I strive to provide advocacy and a voice to those that feel silenced, afraid, or helpless

Advocate For The People
I contribute to my community and others by taking on cases through the Volunteer Lawyers Project which is either pro bono or low bono. I take complex domestic violence cases that others refuse to take on because I think it's important to help those in need. Everyone deserves advocacy. My personal experiences and cases that I see in my private family law practice have inspired me to advocate for survivors of domestic violence. This is an area of the law that does not get enough attention and is often ignored completely. This work has impacted my life in a positive way. I take each situation and learn from it and I believe it makes me a better advocate and person. My understanding of meeting people where they are at has strengthened and I've been able to help people that others aren't willing to. I personally am trying to bring awareness to different judges and attorneys to educate them on domestic violence, its impact on our community, and that it can happen to anyone in any social economic status. I will continue to take these cases and advocate for survivors. I believe we should all care for and work toward a community where everyone can feel safe: this includes advocacy, education, and volunteering. Without volunteers a larger part of our community would remain voiceless.
