I'm an education specialist with high school kids at a charter school in Oakland, teaching students with academic accommodations, and offering guidance and support for their school work. A lot of my role involves helping maintain day-to-day structure for kids in the school's special education program. I strive to create a learning environment and level of support that I would've appreciated as a student. The teachers I looked up to when I was in high school were those who worked hard to encourage me and accommodate my needs, emotional as well as academic, and this was a huge source of inspiration for me when I started teaching.
