I help with the rescue mission for the Red Cross animals, serve as a child advocate and donate funds to charities

Aid The People
As a child, I experienced a civil war in my birthplace, Granada, Nicaragua, during the revolution of 1979. We lost our home, family, pets, and friends. We went days without food, water, or electricity, hiding in a tunnel and a church due to my family's faith and background. I was forced into exile in the US. Thanks to the Red Cross, we were able to survive; they rescued us and provided shelter, food, water, and medical assistance. This had a profound impact on me as a child, and it was encouraging to see others helping. I feel I was given that opportunity to help others in need. Since then, I have volunteered with the Red Cross and Humane Society. I also support Save the Children through a charity I am creating called the Khaim (Life) Foundation in Hebrew. I swim 500 miles a year, and for every 100 miles, I donate to different charities like Save the Children, UNICEF, St. Jude, and Humane Society. I also volunteer at homeless shelters when I can. Unfortunately, the sounds of war and destruction were repeated when I was working in one of the towers during 9/11. I was one of the lucky people who survived that terrible experience. I believe we can make a difference in people's lives. I don’t understand many of my experiences, but I like to make a difference by helping others.
