We're Roxanne Petty and Paulina Romero of non-profit organization AHA! We both came from immigrant families and didn't necessarily feel a sense of belonging in the United States. We understand what it feels like to navigate systems that weren't built for us, to translate not just languages but entire ways of life for our families, and to sometimes feel like we're standing with one foot in each culture without fully belonging to either.

We believe that every young person, regardless of where they come from, deserves to see themselves reflected in their educational journey and to have access to opportunities that can transform not just their lives, but the lives of their families and communities.

Paulina's story is a testament to what's possible when young people are given the right support and opportunities. From navigating the challenges of being first-generation to becoming a leader who now helps guide others along the same journey, she embodies the impact that inclusive and personalized education and mentorship can have.
