I founded nOURish Bridgeport because I could not ignore the growing need in my community. What began as a simple response to hunger has grown into a place where people find dignity, stability, and connection. My role is to lead with compassion, listen deeply, and create programs that honor the whole person.
We serve meals and groceries every Thursday, but our work goes far beyond food. We offer ESL language courses, GED math classes, financial literacy workshops, and operate the only hydroponic farm of its kind in Connecticut. Each program reflects our belief that people deserve not just resources, but real opportunities to grow.
I am inspired every day by the courage of our guests and the dedication of our volunteers. They remind me that community is built through consistency and care.
The problem I’m working to solve is not just hunger—it’s the lack of access and respect that too many families face. Through nOURish, I hope to create a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.
What I gain from this work is a profound sense of purpose. Every person who walks through our doors strengthens my belief that hope grows when we show up for one another.
