I consider myself to be a SERVANT LEADER-especially for women age (18 and up). In my community I had the idea to mentor women and then connect those women with other women interested in mentoring these women. I want this process to have a chain linking effect. Each woman impacted would then reach out to other women (to be mentored or to be a mentor of other women.)
I looked around in my community for such a program, even approached other organizations I believed would be a good fit, but was unsuccessful, so in 2017, I started such an organization. It is/ was a not-for-profit organization with an advisory board of successful women. The organization was titled WOMEN WHO LEAD (WWL). Initially, I marketed WWL via word of mouth and other advisory board members own networks.
We advisory board members initially either mentored other women or connected those women who wanted to be mentored with other natural fits based on the backgrounds of mentor and mentee.
This group connected almost 100 women. As the program became more successful, continuing to grow, we as advisory board members had busy careers, we knew we had to find a partner to take over this work. The organization we chose is the Western New York Women's Foundation. In 2010, The initiative is called "ALL IN" and continues to connect women. I grew up in service in others, and this feels like inspiration from above that I am proud to follow.
