My name is Zoey, and I started Zoey’s Kindness Club in the third grade.
After watching an episode of News Depth on these girls who passed out kind notes in their school, I was inspired to do something of my own. I was encouraged by Taylor Swift because she likes bracelets, and I just started making them. I pass them out at hospitals and other places to make people happy.
My Kindness Club meet ups usually happen at the Gemini Center in Fairview Park, or different events around the city. At first, it was just my mom and I making bracelets together. But my friends and teachers started to support me, too. Anyone can come to make bracelets, and then we give them away to places. I started to receive donations, and I give them to different local and national organizations - ones that benefit hospitals, people with disabilities, animals. In 2025 we raised $1,630.
We need more kindness in the world, and even those tiny acts of kindness mean a lot. And I think that it’s fun to do it. So I think I should just continue doing it, to make sure there’s always enough kindness.
