I founded the Alchemy Sky Foundation because I believe music is connection. A way to heal, to hope, and to remind us that we are not alone. Music has carried me through the highest highs and the lowest lows, including the loss of dear friends that left me searching for light in the darkest of places. A single song "It’s Too Early to Be Too Late" became my lighthouse and my reason to keep going. That experience showed me firsthand the power of music to transform despair into resilience, and it inspired me to create spaces where others could find that same healing.
What inspires me are the moments when music bridges our differences and reveals our shared humanity. I’ve seen it time and again: a veteran writing their first song, a group recording in the studio, or simply someone lighting up when they hear their own story in melody. Veterans often carry invisible wounds, isolation, or a loss of voice. The problem I hope to solve is giving them a safe place to be heard, to heal, and to connect again through creativity.
Through Alchemy Sky, we partner professional musicians with veterans to write, record, and perform original music. These projects give participants a way to process experiences, express emotions, and rediscover confidence. What I get out of contributing is the privilege of witnessing transformation happen in real time. To see a veteran step up to a microphone and sing words they once couldn’t even speak, that is why I do this work. Music made my life better, and through Alchemy Sky, I have the honor of helping it make other lives better too.
