My husband and I learned early on that our neurodivergent kids didn’t fit inside the boxes that traditional school tried to put them in. They weren’t thriving, and worst of all, they were starting to believe they weren’t smart. As we connected with other families facing something hurdles, we realized this wasn’t just our story - it was bigger.
So my husband and I opened Wild Flower Community School, built on the belief that every brain is a good brain, and that children thrive when they are supported as individuals. Most of our students are neurodivergent - dyslexia, ADHD, autism - and they flourish here. We focus on diverse types of intelligences, real-world critical thinking, and helping kids unlearn the idea that something is “wrong” with them. They move at their own pace, explore their interests, and discover how their unique brains work best.
Every day at Wild flower affirms what we saw in our own home: when kids are given freedom, respect, and a place where they truly belong, learning becomes joyful again.
