My name is Melody, I foster dogs and I volunteer with a local rescue in Los Angeles called Maeday Rescue and I'm also on the board. Fostering is taking care of the dogs and making sure all their needs are met. Also, taking them to adoption events which he usually have every couple of weeks and making sure to post a lot of photos in social media. In October, they asked me if I'd like to join the board. I'm the secretary, so I'm responsible for sending all the adoption agreements and making sure the correct documents are signed when the dogs get adopted. It's been very rewarding.
For me, contributing to the community really just means giving back more than what I take from it. I owe so much to the city and to the people around me. Now being in this space with the fostering and working with Maeday rescue, I just feel I heart to help as much as I can and contribute my time, my energy, my ideas to give back to the institutions I've been fortunate enough to be a part of.
