At the end of the day, I'm here because of the students, trying to help them find their better tomorrow – especially if they like to work with their hands, like I did when I was a kid. I had the opportunity to go to a technical high school. I had shop classes and enjoyed all of that. I knew my career pathway. Today, so many kids do not have this experience. They go through a general curriculum. They really have no idea the opportunities that they have in the world. That's how I see my role with the students. Just like the teachers who helped me professionally, I'm trying to help them. My favorite days are when they get employed as an intern or full-time, and then when they graduate, and then when I see them go beyond that. It's been 28 years now and it's wonderful to see how my past students are now managers and they're hiring our current students. This is an ecosystem of support and helping the community and growing. It means a better life for everyone.
