I am passionate about art and recycling. One of the art genres I love is up-cycled or recycled art - that is art make from the things we discard or throw away like old dolls, rusty things, old clothes, bones, scrap metal, what some people call “trash.” The artwork created from the stuff we throw away is repurposed into something meaningful and compelling. There is no limit to the imagination, these things can be combined to make some really interesting art.

I am able to volunteer my time at the Alaska State Fair Recycle Booth and through organizing community art shows. In this way I can further the message of consumerism, pollution, and sustainability. In my small way through art and starting from where I am stand, I can make a difference by promoting a message of waste reduction and environmental consciousness.

We can all make a difference in the health of our planet and the future for all our children.
