I contribute to my school community by facilitating discussions on mental health, discipline, and purpose by applying Stoic philosophy to contemporary struggles. Marcus Aurelius's Meditations inspires me: the most powerful man in the world wrote about service, humility, and community rather than conquest. His teaching that "we're born to work together" showed me that self-improvement without service is just self-obsession. What I get from contributing is purpose. Watching peers find strength through vulnerability and transform their struggles into growth proves my own transformation wasn't just for me. Aurelius taught me discipline is meaningless unless it serves others. I didn't overcome depression to feel better. I overcame it so I could help others do the same.
