My name is Eddie Guillen and I am the founder of Community Innovations Center, a local community nonprofit organization based in Chicago's Southwest side. I have been involved in many other groups working in the city to help those most vulnerable, but decided to bring that action home to my own community and build something that can last. The need is great in my community and I believe that we can make a great impact here through community engagement, empowerment and organizing. Through the help of volunteers, young and old, and the support of local businesses, we are able to provide free food for families, snow removal services for the sick and elderly, and toys to families in need during the holidays. I believe that we are better together and we can't go it alone, we have to work together to make our community a better place for everyone.
